About Us
Brighton Art Society has over 220 members, participating in a large variety of classes, both tutored and untutored, such as:

We have classes on most days and evenings. New or prospective members should view “Classes & Groups” to see what’s available and our timetable. Classes are organized into four 9-week terms over the year. To join a term class, simply fill out and post a membership form, call our office on 9553 8506, or send us a message via the Contact Us form.
We have both a working Studio and a Gallery for exhibitions. Our Studio is a fantastic open space on Level 2 of the
Old
Brighton
Town Hall
, providing great lighting and ambience. We supply easels and backing boards, folding tables, floodlights, still life items, wash-up area, and a storage area if you want to leave your work to dry. You’ll need to bring all your own art materials – we advise you talk to the tutor if uncertain about what you’ll need. Also, there’s a kitchen where you can make hot or cold drinks (we supply tea & coffee at nominal cost).
Our Gallery (the Kevin Taylor Gallery, after a late BAS tutor) is a secure space adjacent to our studio where anyone from an individual member to one of our groups can hold an exhibition. The Studio & Gallery have a full calendar of events during the year.
